Benjamin T. Bacorro is Lifetime Distinguished Achievement Award

Benjamin T. Bacorro is a senior partner in Ortega, Bacorro, Odulio, Calma & Carbonell – the country’s oldest law firm. He serves as president of the Philippine Bar Association, director of the Red Cross and several shipping companies, and is an outstanding Rotarian. As a leading maritime law practitioner in Asia, his name is listed in two leading lawyers’ directories in Asia – The Asian Pacific Legal 500 and Chamber Asia Pacific. He is known for his major research as the Reviser of the Philippine Republic Law Digest for the Martindale-Hubbell International Law Directory.

He is also affiliated with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, American Chamber of Commerce, European Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Philippine British Society, Inc.

As president of the Philippine Bar Association in 2017, he led the fight against corruption and hazing. He is an active member of various professional and civic organizations, including the Rotary and the Philippine Bible Society. Through these organizations, he spearheaded community projects such as medical outreach, deep wells and water supply, feeding, housing, and scholarship programs for the marginalized. He also extended free legal advice and services to Rotarians in need.
