Mabuhay, Mga Bagong Alumni!

Across campuses and islands, the University of the Philippines Class of 2025 stepped forward this July with pride, resilience, and purpose - carrying the spirit of One UP into the world beyond the university.
The UP Alumni Association (UPAA) extends its warmest congratulations to all graduates of UP. Each ceremony was not just a celebration of academic achievement, but a powerful reminder of UP’s commitment to service, honor, and excellence.
At UP Visayas, over 600 graduates were honored during the 46th Commencement Exercises and Papuri 2025 recognition program held in Miagao. Among them stood Kristina V. Celis, this year’s summa cum laude, whose journey in Computer Science reflected quiet brilliance and a heart for purpose-driven innovation.
The ceremonies also welcomed two inspiring speakers: fisheries advocate Reynilda Partida and indigenous leader Fredil Muid of the Tagbanua Calamian Tribe. Their stories of advocacy and healing resonated deeply with the UPV community.
UPAA President and Alumni Regent Robert Lester Aranton joined in honoring the graduates and Papuri awardees, celebrating the next generation of servant-leaders rooted in empathy and excellence.
At UP Cebu, the 86th Commencement Exercises recognized 480 graduates, including two who earned the highest Latin honors of summa cum laude.
Distinguished guests included UP President Angelo A. Jimenez, Chancellor Leo B. Malagar, and Dean Alvin B. Roxas, alongside UPAA Regent Robert Aranton. Broadcaster and advocate Atom Araullo delivered the keynote address - encouraging graduates to lean into truth, courage, and social responsibility.
The celebration in Cebu highlighted the dynamic spirit of innovation and activism that define UP Cebu’s legacy. Padayon, mga bagong alumni!
At UP Diliman, more than 5,000 graduates walked across the stage during the university’s 114th General Commencement Exercises held at the Amphitheater. The theme, Lunas, called on scholars to use collective wisdom as a force for healing and change.
UP President Jimenez and Chancellor Edgardo Carlo Vistan II led the ceremonies, with proud UP alumna and veteran journalist Maria Jessica Soho giving a rousing commencement speech. Mark Andy Pedere, BA Philippine Studies major, represented the Class of 2025 with a heartfelt valedictory address.
In each campus, UPAA Regent Robert Lester Aranton stood in solidarity with the graduates—celebrating not only their accomplishments but also their potential to uplift communities and shape a better future.
To the UP Class of 2025: your journey has only just begun. As you take your next steps -whether in science, service, or the arts - know that the entire UP alumni community is cheering you on.
